This seaside resort grew like a mushroom in the 1980s, marking the end of the beautiful Jandía beach that begins in Morro Jable. Today, this sprawling resort lines up its hotel complexes along the beach, distorting the landscape in the process. It is frequented mainly by Germans, English and some Italians. On the other hand, the sea is very calm here, which is ideal for families. And although it is soulless, it is still pleasant, as it is situated in one of the few Canarian pine groves on the island. Playa Barca is the favourite beach for surfers who appreciate the fact that it is very windy.
