To the east of Montefrío, it is possible to take a detour to this very pretty village which preserves almost all the walls of its castle. Built in the mid-13th century, this complex, including the citadel and fortress, was part of the defence system of the Nazari kingdom of Granada. A group also called, Hisn al-Muqlin, the fortress with two pupils. In the surroundings, there are also many watchtowers to complete this system of territorial defence, such as the Porqueriza tower, the Mingoandrés tower, the Solana tower or the Gallina tower.
