One of the most important coffee centers in the country, in the western cordillera, southwest of Antioquia. There is nothing special about it from a tourist point of view, except for the hotels and fincas de recreo that are very popular with the inhabitants of Medellín, two hours away by car (117 km). It is a coffee town known for being the hometown of a certain Carlos Castañeda, a small coffee producer chosen in 2006 by the National Federation of Coffee Producers of Colombia to represent the national icon Juan Valdez. He succeeds Carlos Sánchez in this representation. The town borders the coffee zone and offers beautiful views.
