Jardín is a pretty little colonial town located 135 km from Medellín, surrounded by pastures and plantations of coffee, bananas, avocados and gulupas. Life is gentle and quiet, and the climate is pleasant at an altitude of 1,750 meters. The tree-lined square is a listed historical monument, with its imposing neo-Gothic stone basilica, and its white houses with red, blue and yellow balconies. The bars come alive on weekends, when the Paisas de Medellín arrive. The surroundings of this enchanted garden offer beautiful walks or horseback rides, such as to the Cueva del Esplendor, a 3-hour walk (take a guide). You can also visit coffee fincas. Your hosts will be happy to put you in contact with local guides.
