An essential part of the cultural and environmental landscape of Piedmont, Saluzzo is fascinating for its artistic heritage and the beauty of its natural setting. Surrounded by a crown of mountains that stand out in the background, Saluzzo rises on a hill dominated by the remains of the fortified castle. In the narrow streets, time seems to have stood still when the town was a powerful marquisate (12th to 16th century). The buildings juggle Renaissance and Baroque styles: friezes above the portals, elegant frescoes, crenellations of the castle... Recently restored, the historic centre has nothing to envy the villages of Tuscany.
