Past Toco, the road passes through the small village of San Souci, where surfing enthusiasts can enjoy the rollers of a small bay. This is THE surfing spot for the locals. The road continues over small wooden bridges - where two cars can't pass each other, and you're strongly advised not to go too fast, as the bridges sometimes appear at the end of blind bends - to reach Grande Rivière and finally Matelot, where the road stops and turns into a track that is impassable for cars of any kind. This jungle track leads to Blanchisseuse, 38 km away. The coast here is very wild, and San Souci is a quiet little village where time is a little eternal. As long as the beach is so wild, make the most of it! Especially as the currents are not too violent, despite the waves.
