From Matura, the road to Toco runs along postcard-perfect scenery. To your right, miles of beaches alternating between fine sand and coconut palms or cliffs dropping into the sea. To your left, the green of a lush forest that licks the tarmac almost constantly, punctuated only by a few houses or rum-shops here and there, as in Salybia, the first village after Matura. In Salybia, nature lovers can make a stop and take a footpath from the village to the Rio Seco waterfalls (the entrance to the path is signposted). You can swim in the falls' natural pool.
