In Salem, you won't find any witches! On the contrary, this is where the famous Salem Abbey (Kloster und Schloss Salem in German) is located. It was founded in 1134, making it one of the oldest in the region, and today it is an international school. Only a few kilometers from Constance (and therefore slightly less touristy), the town offers various accommodations for those seeking to avoid tourists, as well as restaurants. In the center of the town is the quiet little lake Schloßsee, ideal for a swim. The town is situated a little bit high up, offering a nice view of the region.
