At an altitude of 499 meters, this village is famous for the Acquacheta waterfall. On the road to Marradi, a path leads to the falls through rocks, forests and green meadows. Sung by Dante in Song XVI of Inferno, the waterfalls are 90 meters high. Following the path after the falls, you reach the Romiti plain, a beautiful plateau where the ruins of the ancient abbey are located. It is a wonderful hike for everyone, and the most courageous can even bathe in the refreshing waters of the falls! Next to San Benedetto, don't miss to visit the charming medieval village of Portico.
