Located 20 km from Luxembourg City, the village of Septfontaines already existed a long time ago, in the Merovingian era... Documents attest to its existence and mention it for the first time in the year 698. Its name evokes the seven springs (once sacred) which are now gathered in a fountain in the centre of the village. The locality is dominated by the medieval fortress, which is now a private property closed to the public. Septfontaines also has a church dedicated to Saint Martin, one of the most famous of the bishops of Tours. Several footpaths allow you to discover the village and its surroundings.
