Travel Guide Colchagua

The purpose of this circuit is to inform travellers about the process of wine development in the beautiful Colchagua Valley (in the indigenous language of the Chiquillanes, perhaps the most virulent of the Mapuche, the «small lagoons valley»). Various tours are offered, (of three hours, one half day or one full day, from the Plaza de Armas de Santa Cruz, a locality located less than 40 km west of San Fernando, see below), including the visit of the vines and the wine tasting of the producers, as well as the visit of the Colchagua Museum and a lunch at the Colchagua. Santa Cruz Social Club or Hotel Santa Cruz Plaza (all depends of course on the "full day" option). All will also insist on the traditional aspects of the region (gastronomy, folklore, crafts). It is not possible to visit the cellars by visiting the cellars directly. An organized tour is therefore imperative. The guides also speak French (in theory).
