Located 445 km south of Mendoza, the ski resort of Las Leñas is less famous or posh than the one of San Carlos de Bariloche, in the lakes region. On the other hand, the 17,500 hectares of skiable area will allow you to escape from the crowd and find some peace and quiet. Be careful with the prices, a stay in Las Leñas is often very expensive. The resort claims to have an international clientele (many Brazilians) and the infrastructures are very modern. The prices are affected by this but it seems that skiing in the mountains of the Cordillera is priceless for some tourists!
