Located on the south bank of the Tinguirrica River, this small and peaceful town with a certain colonial charm (especially in the center, damaged by the earthquake of February 2010) is in the heart of a beautiful wine region, the Colchagua Valley. It is a great place to stay during a visit to the Ruta del Vino (Wine Route). But beyond the tasting pleasures, Santa Cruz is a nice immersion in the Chilean countryside: treat yourself to a cable car ride to the top of Chaman Hill, admire the constellations of the southern hemisphere at the observatory or take advantage of the city's museum to learn more about the country's history.
