Dominated by baobabs, this beach is reputed to be one of the island's wonders. Fishermen sometimes stand in the first cove, selling their fish, as do art dealers. Rarely seen in Africa, the beach is equipped with selective sorting garbage cans. You have to go to the end of the stony track to reach Lagoa Azul, a more protected bay, which is an ideal site for snorkeling along the rocks. When the sun shines on the seabed, you can see schools of billions of tiny fish. Overlooking the bay, with a bit of luck you can see whales (around August and September) and dolphins all year round.
