After leaving the Ogooué, we follow the Ezanga River and then the Pelican River, to reach the Evaro Lake, a good hour's pirogue ride from Lambaréné. Throughout the walk, one can only marvel at the wild and unspoiled landscapes all around the lake. You can observe many species of birds, and with a little luck, hippos. At the mouth of the Pelican River, the village of Ompomouena can be a pleasant place to bivouac. To complete the excursion, one can make a detour to the Ngomo Protestant mission, west of Evaro, which was one of the first evangelization centers in the country.
