A small Nkomi village next to the mission, Sainte-Anne lives by fishing. Its history, like that of the mission, began with the arrival of Father Bichet and Father Buléon in 1887. Originally from Sainte-Anne d'Auray in Brittany, Father Buléon gave the name Sainte-Anne to the mission he decided to found and drew up the plans for the church that Father Bichet financed. This church, with a metal structure, has the particularity of having been designed in the workshops of Gustave Eiffel. Today, the charming village of Sainte-Anne benefits from the mission school where teaching is entrusted to teachers recruited in West Africa.
