Located 17 km from Puerto Lopez and 31 km from Montañita, Puerto Rico is a small town along the Ruta del Sol, near Las Tunas, Ayampe and Montañita, and further north, Puerto Lopez (25 minutes by bus). It is an authentic stopover where tourism has not yet developed and that is its interest. This town offers accommodation where the traveller can rest and enjoy the peace and quiet of the place. The beach of Las Tunas, a large stretch of grey sand, is still wild and very little frequented. Puerto Rico is the ideal stage between Montañita and Puerto Lopez if you like to stroll and seek authenticity.
