This tropical dry forest of 3,490 ha contains deciduous trees that lose their leaves in the dry season. It is one of the most threatened natural environments in the world. This reserve concentrates no less than 850 plant species, 215 species of birds, 54 species of mammals: tigrillo, hunter monkey, puma, jaguar in the heights (the park has an altitude of 100 m to 600 m), bat, raccoon(osito lavador)...Depending on the season, the forest is entirely green, in accordance with the idea that one has of a tropical forest (from January to May) or completely dry. The trees lose their leaves and then start to bloom at the end of the season (from June to December). Others, like the kapok trees, coat their bark with green (chlorophyll): without their solar panels, which are the leaves, they can once again carry out photosynthesis and breathe with their trunk!
