Capital of the prefecture of the same name, the city of Tottori is located along the coast of the Sea of Japan. Very famous for its sand dunes, the largest in Japan, Tottori also enjoys other tourist attractions rather unknown. With its airport, which connects it to Tokyo, and its proximity to the sea and the countryside, its assets are not lacking. It is certainly not the most visited city by international tourists visiting the Archipelago, but the pleasure of a change of scenery and tranquillity is priceless. Tottori is also the ideal starting point to explore the whole eastern part of the prefecture. You can go to Kurayoshi, nicknamed the "little Kyoto of San'in", with its white warehouses and old traditional houses, to Misasa, a small spa town of 6,400 inhabitants, where you can feel the atmosphere of an authentic Japan far from the bustle of the big sites of the country, or to Yonago, the second gateway to the prefecture by plane from Tokyo.
