Although the place is quite isolated and therefore relatively difficult to access, it deserves the attention of lovers of local crafts and especially washi paper. The town of Aoya specializes in the manufacture of Inshu Washi, considered to be one of the oldest traditional Japanese washi papers. The studio houses a permanent exhibition and often exhibits works created withInshu Washi. The shop sells many products related to washi and it is possible to make a sheet of paper (¥500).
