This beautiful Ishitani residence was for a long time the largest building in Chizu City during the Edo period. This priceless example of traditional Japanese architecture is laid out around a large interior garden, which becomes a real picture during autumn. More than 40 rooms, 7 storerooms and other smaller gardens make up the residence. This architectural masterpiece of the prefecture has been classified as an "important cultural property". It is possible to eat a curry (800 ¥) or soba (600 ¥).
