Every year, this small town delights visitors. The road from Flagstaff sets the tone: it slaloms through the pines to the impressive red formations of Slide Rock State Park. Little by little, these formations give way to the even more monumental ones surrounding Sedona: the famous Red Rocks. An almost unreal set, where the horizon is made of round mountains of an ochre white or a bright orange red in the shape of mesa, as in Monument Valley. Nevertheless, here, the vegetation gives the place an air of Provence. On the main street, stone stores follow one another. The reason: the vortexes that animate the city, these powerful energy phenomena, invisible to the naked eye. Thus, Sedona is the point of convergence of many flows that give it a mystical character, making it a true capital of the New Age. Whether one believes in it or not, no one can remain insensitive to its beauty. A state of contemplation that continues once the visit is over, when you take the Red Rock Scenic Byway to the south.
