In the north of the village of Aghoudi, you must see the falls of Chaki, the highest in Armenia. Coming from the plateau among a rare vegetation, water discharges a height of nearly 40 m, but it is mainly through its width that the fall impresses, when the season of course fed it enough (in autumn, it may be a little disappointed). A few kilometres south of Chaki, you can take a hot water bath in a natural basin where the water is at 36 ° C. It is therefore relaxed that you will visit, on a replat overlooking the river Vorotan, the monastery of Vorotnavank, whose wall of the enclosure merges with the walls of the mountains to which it stands. This site of eagle's nest, which contains remnants of church that had served as the cellar family of the Dzaguikian, played a leading strategic role in the history of this region. The walls today ruined by this fortress of the th century, protecting the northern borders of Siounie, suffered the assaults of Bursa Turks. Prince Smbat Orbélian, lord of the places, succeeded in removing the fortress from the appetites of the Mongolian invaders in the th century. Finally, closer to us, in 1723, the site was one of the top places in the struggle for national liberation by a hero from these regions, David Bek, who managed to maintain a semblance of independence in Zanguézour and Karabakh, then Persia provinces.
