7 km east of Sissian, on the road leading to Goris, we pass through the village of Aghoudi (or Aghatoun), at the centre of which a curious monument has kept the mystery from its conception until today. On a large pedestal, there is an elegant two-storey arcade, the pillars of which are finely carved. This monument, probably dating from the th century and quite close to the one near the church of Odzoun in northern Armenia, probably had a commemorative function.
