In Taino language, naguabo means land filled with water, where the mountain begins. That says it all. It was the name of an Indian chief. Located north of Humacao, the town of Naguabo is actually included in the excellent El Yunque Park. Naguabo has little tourist appeal and still suffers from electrical disturbances and lack of housing due to Hurricane Maria. You can stay in one of the accommodations we recommend if you want to visit El Yunque and have a relaxing place to stay in the middle of nature. To eat, go to El Malecón where you will find small restaurants and kiosks
