Here, we're at the tip of Graubünden, heading west towards the Bernese Oberland. Disentis is a small mountain town with a curiosity: a famous monastery, built on the site of an abbey founded in the 8th century. The abbey church, with its two bulbous bell towers, is an interesting sight, as is the parish church in the village center, also bulbous. Both are well worth a visit. The village is a relatively harmonious blend of traditional - decorated windows, carved balconies - and modern styles. As you leave the village towards Ilanz, you'll come across a chapel with a large dome.
