A marvellous, enchanting site. Eighty-seven snow-capped peaks beyond the vast Romsdal fjord, a town adorned with roses, lime, ash, maple and aspen. Surprisingly, in front of these white peaks, gardens and trees forget the latitude. At the end of July, a week-long jazz festival brings the town to life. Molde grew out of the Moldegård estate where Henrik Ibsen liked to spend his vacations. His play, Rosmersholm (Ed. du Porte-Glaive, 1991), was written in Moldegård's blue drawing room. A welcome stopover between sea and mountains.Further information on the jazz festival: www.moldejazz.no
