The road leads to the precipice of Flydalsjuvet which dominates the small town of Geiranger at the bottom, on the bank of the fjord surrounded by high mountains. The walls bordering the fjord are dotted with numerous waterfalls with evocative names (the Three Sisters, the Bridal Veil...). This is why the fjord, without being the widest or longest, is reputed to be the most beautiful in Norway. It is a Unesco World Heritage Site. Very popular place, there are many people, ferries, cars, buses and large hotels which are not very charming. A must-see nevertheless!
