Off the beaten track, and far from the coast, this town of 1,800 inhabitants is located in the northeastern part of Aust-Agder. We mention Åmli because it is particularly well preserved. Beautiful valleys, fishy rivers, endless forests and moors, idyllic lakes. We are on the border between Setesdal and Telemark, in the heart of the beaver kingdom. Here you have the opportunity to observe them up close, to see how they build their ingenious dams and their carefully constructed dwellings. There are some very nice hikes to be done in the area, such as the one to the Rjukanfossen waterfalls
