It's a small town with all the shops and transport facilities of the Dovre region, where Dovrefjell National Park is located. The tourist office rents out bicycles and organizes excursions into the national park. One of the oldest royal roads crosses the Dovre plateau, but the recent E6 has partly obliterated it. It can be found between Hjerkinn and Kongsvoll, where it can be followed, its milestones visible and marked with the old royal seal. Dombas has no real attractions of its own, apart from a small wooden church dating from 1939. We stop here to refuel before crossing the Dovre.
