Kanté and the entrance to Tamberma country are about 55 km north of Kara. It is a cosmopolitan city where several ethnic groups live in harmony, including the Lamba, the Losso, the Kabyè and the Kotokoli. It is famous for its lively market and also for its traditional festivals, including Tislm-Difoini-Oboudam, the harvest festival, which takes place on the second Saturday of February. To visit the Tamberma villages, you need to take a cab from the gas station in Kandé to the village of Nadoba, in the heart of Tamberma country. You can easily find one on market day, Wednesday. The other way to get there is by motorcycle cab.
