Nestled at the foot of the Assoli Mountains, the city of Bafilo is located about 20 km south of Kara. With a population of about 25,000, it is composed of a cosmopolitan population, the majority of whom are Muslim. It is home to Kabyè, Kotokoli and Peul people, among others. A market is held there every Thursday. Bafilo is renowned for its traditional weaving of loincloths and cotton clothes, among other creations. You can appreciate the work of traditional craftsmen at the Centre artisanal des tisserands, located in the Didaourè district. To reach the city by bush cab, count about 2,000 FCFA per person.
