In Bandjéli, there is a beautiful Konkomba chiefdom as well as impressive blast furnaces, which should soon be upgraded. The locality was in fact one of the most important iron and steel centers in West Africa. It is now recognized for its smelting technique and its blacksmiths who have perpetuated a traditional know-how for several generations. Bandjéli is located about 80 km from Kara. When you arrive in Kabou, you must take the direction of Katachamba and Bandjéli, which is about 30 km from Kabou. Bush cabs leave from Kara. It costs about 1,500 FCFA to travel from Kara to Bandjéli.
