The park, with an area of 64,000 ha, straddles the Kara and Savannah regions. The fauna, once abundant, has almost completely disappeared. A sign at the entrance to the reserve reminds us that the speed limit is 50 km/h throughout the area. It was not uncommon for herds of elephants or buffaloes to cross the road. Today the wildlife is slowly returning, and some elephants have made a comeback. The forest rangers, who are on site, will make visitors relive this nostalgic time, when the region was black with animals.
