The Oti-Mandouri Reserve covers the Oti River valley on 1,878.40 km². It borders Burkina Faso to the north and Benin to the east. It is contiguous with the large Pendjari wildlife reserve in Benin. Its tourist structures are rather informal, which gives cachet to the discovery. Upon arrival, it is advisable to announce yourself to the authorities. It is possible to stay on site and to access, early in the morning or at the end of the day with a guide, some water points to observe the animals. The village of Mandouri has a traditional character and is worth spending a night to share the life of its inhabitants.
