The settlers used this small island located in front of the village of Inhaca to isolate lepers. At low tide, you can get there on foot. At high tide, fishermen provide the crossing. There is very little vegetation on this huge sand bank, so beware of sunburn. The beach, which faces Inhaca, is the best place to swim, but beware of the currents around. You can also walk around the island in 1h30, passing by the other side of the island, where the low tide forms small lagoons. All day trips to Inhaca and Santa Maria from Maputo stop at this island.
