population: 2,000. This small village is located around 3 km south of Spiš Castle on route 547. The village is famous for its archaeological sites, but above all for its Gothic Church of the Holy Spirit, built in 1275. Modifications were made in the 13thand 15thcenturies . Together with Spiš Castle, it was included on the Unesco World Cultural Heritage list in 1993. It contains precious frescoes, early 15th-century Gothic sculptures and a 13th-century stone baptistery. In Hodkovce, part of Žehra, there's a Baroque manor house dating from 1703 with a French park.
