Located 30 km north of Cape Coast, Kakum National Park is one of Ghana's main tourist attractions. The suspension bridge, 30 m above the ground, is an attraction that offers an interesting view of the rainforest. The canopy tour (in the trees) is a classic and lasts an hour. One regret, however: due to intensive hunting, the park's large animal species are not much in evidence, and there's little chance of seeing monkeys leaping from branch to branch. Nevertheless, it is possible to spot butterflies, ants and birds. This chance increases with visits at sunrise or sunset, when the animals are most active. Another attraction of the park is the meetings organized with the village of Mosomagor, where it is possible to sleep in the trees from a platform. The villagers play wind instruments made from bamboo. You'll have to pay a few extra cedis to put on a small concert, but it's well worth it.
