You can get there from Næstved directly by road 265, which crosses the E47 highway. If you choose this route and if the sun is shining, make a detour to the peninsula of Feddet. At the end of the road, past a pine plantation, you will find a large and beautiful sandy beach. The town of Præstø is opposite, forming with the peninsula of Feddet the entrance to Præstø fjord. This small municipality of 3,800 inhabitants has preserved the charm of its old center around a single street: Torvet. Nothing is known about its origins, but its prosperity is linked to its role as a port of call for Hanseatic ships and the development of the salt trade.
