In this village just east of Babadag, on a hilltop, stand the remains of a fortress erected in the 14th century, probably by the Genoese, who then had a monopoly on Black Sea shipping. It was abandoned with Turkish domination and the formation of Lake Razim. The fortress has been extensively renovated in recent years (open Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; admission €2). Enjoy a spectacular 360-degree view of Lake Razim and the surrounding area. In the heart of the village, you can also visit a pretty peasant house typical of the region, now a museum (Wednesday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., €1.20).
