This town of 23,800 inhabitants northwest of Suceava is a good base from which to explore the monasteries of Bukovina. Although, once again, we advise you to opt for homestay accommodation in the villages. The town is lively, as is its market, held daily near piața Unirii, the central square. If you're passing through, a visit to the Bogdana monastery is a must. Rădăuţi is also known for its production of afinată, a delicious blueberry liqueur.
