In this village, 32 km northwest of Rădăuţi, you'll see a pretty wooden church dating from 1468 (one of the oldest in Europe). It's called the Church of Dragoş Vodă, after the prince who founded Moldavia and decided to build it. Threatened with destruction by the Tatars, it is said to have been moved here by Ştefan cel Mare. At the entrance to the village, you'll also see the hermitage of Daniel (Chilia Daniil Sihastrul), monk and adviser to Ştefan cel Mare, who himself dug a cave in the rock. A poorly-marked path leads to the Suceviţa monastery.
