On the road to Huedin and Oradea, this large village is home to the ruins of a Roman fortress and a 15th century Renaissance castle. There are many lakes in the area. Some play a major ecological role. Lake Legii is a nesting place for many migratory birds. Ornithological reserves have been created around lakes Geaca, Știucii and Legii. Other artificial lakes are used to produce hydraulic energy (Fântânele, Floroiu and Tarnița). They are also leisure areas (fishing, sailing...). The Cluj region also has some salt lakes, near the old salt mines (Cojocna, Sic...).
