With its 325,000 inhabitants, Cluj-Napoca (Hungarian: Kolozsvár, German: Klausenburg) is Transylvania's major economic, cultural and academic center. Coming from Sibiu, Sighișoara or Brașov, you're struck by the very different atmosphere of Cluj. Here, the center isn't medieval, and none of the sites are particularly set in their tourist ways.
