Botiza is a heavenly place, away from it all. In this large village of 2,300 inhabitants, traditions remain firmly rooted. Rural tourism is well developed here, and you'll have no trouble finding a room in one of the many guesthouses. Botiza is also known for its wood carvings, wool working, mineral water springs and the wooden church of St. Parascena, built in 1699 in Vișeu de Sus and moved here two hundred years later. Every Saturday morning, you can visit its pleasant market. In mid-May, an important village festival is held here, linked to the transhumance.
