It is the big city from where we embark for Morro de São Paulo and Boipeba, 2 hours by bus from Salvador. We rarely stop there and it's a shame. By visiting its old center, you can see that the city has been rich and dynamic. Located in one of the most beautiful regions of Bahia, Valença is one of the main centers of the Costa do Dendê coast. It offers beautiful landscapes and paradisiacal beaches, such as the beach of Guaibim, 17 km from the city center. The city is a Mecca of Bahian gastronomy, it is considered the capital of shrimp, raised in aquaculture farms, palm oil and cloves
