This small village of 7,500 inhabitants defines itself as the capital of trolls because of its Scandinavian and especially Norwegian heritage. You will see trolls everywhere, as well as Norwegian flags. This naive style, this reproduction of a distant past, is very important to the inhabitants. Americans are very enthusiastic when it comes to evoking their roots. From May to October, several festivals are organized to celebrate the traditions. In a nearby valley, a village of pioneer immigrants has been recreated that traces the life of the community in the 1850s. The centre of the village is full of antique shops.
