240 km north of Carnarvon and 150 km south of Exmouth, Coral Bay is a village that has developed a tourist hub around its natural and marine beauties. The main attraction is the Ningaloo Reef, also known as the "Western Barrier Reef" in reference to the one on the east coast. The word Ningaloo is derived from the Wajarri word Nyinggulu, meaning deep water. Turtles, whale sharks and a host of other aquatic creatures, in addition to multicolored corals. Ningaloo Reef can be visited from Coral Bay, the nearest access point to the corals, just 500 m from the beach, or from Exmouth, which has an airport nearby and more accommodation and activities.In Coral Bay, you can enjoy a beautiful 2 km walk along the coast, the Coral Bay Walkway .
