First village on the west coast north of Sturgeon Bay, known for its well-kept gardens and pretty houses. Egg Harbor loves festivals, and holds them throughout the year: free concerts on Thursday afternoons in July and August, the Pumpkin Patch Festival celebrating the arrival of autumn and the colours on the leaves of the trees, to name but a few. The name Egg Harbor is said to come from a summer day in 1825, when two merchant ships returned to port and their crews engaged in a spectacular egg battle, covering traders and passers-by with a slimy dripping layer and the shoreline with shattered shells.
