Ephraim is a small village of less than 300 inhabitants on the northern edge of Peninsula State Park on the west coast of the peninsula. Painters and photographers have always loved this village nestled in its small bay on the edge of the natural park. From the top of the observation tower of the Peninsula State Park, it is difficult to distinguish between the trees. The white wooden houses are a reminder of the preserved Scandinavian past celebrated by various festivals, including the Fyr Bal, held the weekend before the summer solstice. From the banks of the village, one can have a beautiful view of Horseshoe Island, the horseshoe shaped island and the cliffs of Eagle Bluff
